Spoiler Alert - Do Not Read If You Prefer to be Surprised
In Heart and Soul, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) grows nostalgic as she spends more time
with her doting friend Charles (Marcus Rosner) in Hamilton, further complicating her feelings,
while Jack (Daniel Lissing) returns to the renamed Hope Valley to fulfill a labor of love for the
young teacher—rebuilding the church and school. Jack enlists the help of new friend and
timber tycoon Lee Coulter (Kavan Smith), who is becoming more smitten by Jack’s beautiful ex,
Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) as their flirtation grows. A trusting Abigail (Lori Loughlin) says
goodbye to Bill (Jack Wagner), who claims he has a new investigation back East, but promises
to return to her. With her hopes up, Abigail is devastated when she receives a visit from
someone very close to Bill, claiming he hasn’t been completely truthful. Meanwhile, Hope
Valley is wrought with more dishonesty as conman Floyd Conklin (Paul McGillion) arrives in
town to swindle the hard-working residents, but is quickly mistaken for the church’s new
Reverend, the ruggedly handsome Frank Hogan (Mark Humphrey), who is expected to arrive
any day. After Lee rejects Gowen’s (Martin Cummins) offer to work together on the new saw
mill, Gowen threatens him, and soon has another tactic for getting what he wants that will
drastically affect the whole town. Floyd and Gowen’s manipulative exploits explode in the
saloon as a beloved Hope Valley couple prepares to exchange vows. Worlds away, Elizabeth
feels the pressure from her parents and her newly engaged sister Viola (Devon Weigel) to make
a decision about Charles and Jack, wondering if her adventure on the frontier prevented her
from finding happiness—and true love—right at home.
